April Full Moon Hike
Description
Come Celebrate The Full Pink Moon at Wright-Locke Farm with us on Monday, April 22.
We are celebrating a day early to take advantage of the earlier time of moonrise (6:30 pm as opposed to 7:35 pm). We’ll be hoping for clear skies so that we can watch the Moon rise in the east from the hilltop behind the All Seasons Barn at beautiful Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester.
We’ll begin with a little poetry and a discussion of what causes the phases of the Moon. We’ll also learn about why it is called “The Full Pink Moon”. Then we’ll go out onto the sanctuary for a walk through the fields, around the farm pond and into the woods to enjoy the natural world as the sky darkens. We’ll return to the barnyard to watch the Moon climb higher in the east while we enjoy a nice bonfire and share Full Moon memories with each other.
Children ages 10 and older are welcome to register if accompanied by a registered adult.
