Pond Turtles Session 05: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Description
Knees and toes! (We know you were already singing it!) Big or small, furred or feathered, our animal friends have body parts that help them survive. We’ll use observation, art, and play to discover how similar and different animals’ bodies are to our own. Do elk have toes in those hooves? Is a snake all tail? What’s a turtle’s shell like? Join us this summer to find out!

Pond Turtles helps guide children as they discover animals throughout the zoo. Each curriculum has a theme; the lens through which campers will build skills such as mindfulness, peer collaboration, empathy and scientific inquiry.

A daily routine including morning circle, bathroom breaks, snacks and lunch will help set campers up for school year success. While the daily routine is the structure of the curriculum there is day to day flexibility which allows instructors to focus on campers’ immediate needs and interests; each day is a new adventure.
