Winter Camp 8-10, 12/28-30
Description
In preparation for an el Niño Winter in Santa Barbara, join us as we develop and hone our observational science skills! We will be diving deep into the effects this wet winter brings to our ecosystem. We will spend time watching the water rush down Mission Creek towards Mission Lagoon where the creek joins the Ocean and learn how our creeks and oceans interact.

Camp mornings will be spent exploring halls and learning about our ecosystem, and the afternoons will be spent applying the information outdoors! We will learn about how plants, land animals and freshwater organisms survive this much needed deluge of water we will be seeing this winter.

Our observational skills will be honed by utilizing the wet ground and searching for and following the animal, and human tracks that are easier to see in the wet ground. Adventures will take campers across the museum campus and through the Oak Woodland, watching and observing the signs of life that are all around us.
