YouCubed (2nd & 3rd grade)
Description
YouCubed is an approach to mathematics teaching and learning developed by a team of educators at Stanford University, led by Professor Jo Boaler. The YouCubed team is dedicated to engaging and inspiring mathematical thinking and confidence in students of all ages by empowering teachers to translate the latest research into accessible, practical resources and classroom strategies.
Since 2019, the team at YouCubed have trained educators to host summer camps for mathematics, and since then, dozens of schools and districts across across the United States have have created camps based on the YouCube model. A recent study of this nationwide implementation showed that campers experience a significant increase in mathematics achievement after the camp and throughout the following year!
These engaging, collaborative, and enriching camps will run from 8:30am-11:30am during the week of July 27-31 and are designed for students entering 2nd and 3rd grade. The camp will be taught by Tiya, a 2nd grade teacher at Rowland Hall.
