Dance Through the Decades
Description
Get ready to dance through time! In this high-energy, fun-filled class, students will explore iconic dance styles from the past century.

Each week will focus on a different decade, giving dancers a taste of the music, fashion, and moves that defined each era. Students will learn classic dance crazes like the Moonwalk from the '80s, Disco from the '70s, Swing from the '40s, Line Dancing from the '90s, and many more unforgettable styles. Along the way, they’ll gain a better understanding of musicality, rhythm, and how dance trends reflect pop culture. This class is perfect for dancers who love to move, have fun, and try something new every week. No previous experience needed—just bring your energy and enthusiasm!

Attire: Black leotard, Pink tights, Pink split-sole Ballet shoes and Tan split-sole Jazz shoes. Hair must be pulled away from the face. Class attire information can be found on the Parish Extend website: https://parishplus.org/programs/parishextend/dance-academy/

*Dancers will participate in the Merry & Bright Performance on Wednesday, December 9, 2026. Please note that the class fee includes the performance costume.
