What is Parish Lab

Parish Lab is a program housed within The Gilman Study, on the Midway campus. Parish Lab is offered to students across 3rd through 12th grade.

Parish Lab in Lower School

Lower School Parish Lab is a fun, high-impact class for 3rd grade students that turns things like planning, focus, and follow-through into everyday habits.

How it Works

• Short, upbeat lessons with hands-on challenges and mini projects
• Coaching that helps kids start now, stick with it, and finish strong
• Small-group practice that carries into class and home

What Students Will Learn

Executive Functioning Skills

• How to plan the week, break big tasks into steps, and manage time
• How to stay on task with simple tools like checklists, graphic organizers, and memory strategies
• Ways to work with partners, speak up, and ask for help
• Strategies to keep materials in order and turn work in on time

Why it Helps

• Research-based strategies presented in a kid-friendly way
• Builds independence, confidence, and calm amid everyday social and academic demands

Other Important Details

When will LS Parish Lab be?

• During school, two days per week
• Full-year program: August to May
• Occurs during the grade-level, 30-minute Strategic Learning block
  • Strategic Learning is a dedicated time built into every student's schedule that is designed for review, re-teach, and intervention.
  • No new content is introduced during Strategic Learning, so your child will not miss any instructional time.
  • It is possible that they will miss some of their current intervention, if they currently participate in more than 3 days a week of tutoring or other services during Strategic Learning.

How many students will be in each class?

• Class size: 8 to 10 students

Is Parish Lab Effective for All Students?

Success in Parish Lab depends on student buy-in. The most successful students are open to coaching, willing to practice new routines, and benefit from consistent communication between home and school.

Behavioral Expectations

Students must follow the expectations outlined in the student handbook. Parish Lab is a supportive space designed to build confidence and independence. Students should demonstrate respect, focus, and a willingness to engage in learning.

Financial Information

Cost & Billing

• Annual Tuition: $2,900 per student (August to May).
• Billing: Added to your child's tuition account under the current payment schedule.
  • Monthly payment plans: fees at the time of enrollment will be divided over the remaining months of your student's regular tuition payment schedule.
  • Full payment plans: fees at the time of enrollment will be added, in full, to your student's tuition account and an invoice will be generated and sent at the next monthly billing cycle.

Please Note: There is no fee to complete this online registration form. The $2,900 annual tuition for LS Parish Lab will be added to your child's tuition account after registration is processed.
