Financial Literacy
Description
Prerequisite: Algebra II

Description: The central theme of Financial Literacy is giving the students the tools and insights to achieve financial wellness. We will have activities that investigate income, expenses, budgets, banking and a wide variety of other topics that will give students the information and skills they need to make good financial decisions as adults.

Adults deal with financial issues in every aspect of their lives. Many young people enter adulthood without any background on how to create Financial Wellness, which is essential to creating feelings of wellbeing in their lives. This financial literacy course will cover many of the issues that adults encounter. Many people do not realize the degree of control they have over

their finances. The knowledge gained in this course will set the students on the path to taking control of their financial wellbeing.

Auditing the course is an option for Parish students, alumni, and parents in consultation with the instructor (cmorris@parish.org).
