iSocialize K
Description
This class helps students build meaningful connections with peers while strengthening social cognition and communication skills. Led by experienced Speech-Language Pathologist, Chelsea Maxey, from the Shelton Speech Center, students will participate in play-based and group activities designed to improve their ability to interpret social cues, solve social problems, communicate effectively, and self-advocate.

Campers will practice and develop the five key social competencies:
• Self-Awareness (communicating feelings, perspective taking, etc.)
• Self-Management (positive self-talk, growth mindset, and positive thinking)
• Social Awareness (respecting others, gaining independence, solving problems)
• Relationship Skills (empathy, joining a group, friendship skills)
• Responsible Decision-Making (taking a break, refocusing our minds)

By the end of camp, students will gain confidence, stronger social language skills, and the tools to thrive in group settings!
