Script to Screen: Writing for Film
Description
In this fast-paced and highly creative workshop, students will learn how filmmakers turn written ideas into visual stories - and then do it themselves! Campers will explore the fundamentals of novel adaptations and screenwriting. Each day blends writing instruction with interactive activities, acting practice, and literary analysis.
Working individually or in small teams, campers will create an original short story and then adapt it into a script to perform for their peers. This camp is ideal for writers, performers, artists, budding directors, and any middle schooler who loves storytelling, movies/theatre, or simply being creative.
Students leave with stronger reading and writing skills essential for Middle School Humanities, a deeper understanding of film adaptations, and the confidence to bring their imagination to life.
