Reading Workshop-5th
Description
In this focused reading workshop, incoming 5th graders will make meaningful progress on their required summer reading book. Each day includes structured reading time and guided discussions to help students strengthen comprehension and engage thoughtfully with the text.

Campers will explore key literary elements, such as character, setting, conflict, and theme, while also learning and practicing effective annotation and discussion strategies. Small-group conversations and teacher guidance help students stay on track, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of the reading.

This workshop supports a smooth transition into 5th grade English by reinforcing strong reading habits and building confidence before the school year begins. Families will receive a camp summary at the end of the week, highlighting progress and skills practiced.

NOTE: The title and author of the required summer reading book will be shared via email in the spring.
