Educational Equity Service Camp
Description
Join us for a transformative one-week camp dedicated to promoting educational equity in our community. In partnership with United to Learn, a Dallas-based nonprofit committed to closing opportunity gaps in public elementary schools, high school students will engage in meaningful service projects that directly support local schools.
Participants will gain insights into systemic challenges faced by under-resourced schools and collaborate on initiatives to enhance learning environments and resources. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and mentorship, campers will develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of social responsibility. By the end of the week, students will have made a tangible impact on educational equity in Dallas and be empowered to continue advocating for change.
Note that participation in this service-learning project fulfills the 15 community service hours required for rising Juniors. Rising Seniors may also fulfill this requirement but need to discuss with Parish’s Director of
Community Service, Beth Kirner, to confirm before signing up.
Students will need to provide their own transportation to school and to off-site volunteering.
