Ballet, Tap, Jazz

This combination class introduces ballet, tap, and jazz in a playful, creative way while laying the groundwork for future dance training.

In this fun, energetic class, students will skip, gallop, leap, stretch, wiggle, and giggle while exploring the foundations of three dance styles. Young dancers will learn basic tap steps to develop rhythm and timing, introductory ballet positions and movements, and the beginning steps of jazz, including simple choreography that blends style with technique. The class also allows time for creative movement, letting children experience the joy of dancing freely. Each session concludes with basic tumbling and balancing exercises.

Attire: Pink split-sole ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and hair pulled away from the face. While uniformity and proper dress are standard in dance programs, PreK students will not change clothes.

*Dancers will participate in the 14th Annual Parish Extend Dance Academy Performance on May 16. A rehearsal is scheduled for May 15. The class fee includes the costume for the performance.
