Interested in getting your child to code and learn some basic building and teamwork skills? CAIS is introducing an afterschool club built on the FIRST® LEGO® League (with FIRST meaning For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which started in 1989. FIRST® LEGO® League introduces STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) to children through fun, exciting hands-on learning.

Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program using LEGO® technology, helping today’s students, families, and educators build a better future together. FIRST Lego League’s divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, and coding for local practice sessions (time to be determined).

This afterschool club is designed to begin preparing students for competition in the fall. Students will learn how to build a robot from the Spike or EV3 Lego collection and program the robot to achieve a variety of skills.
