Coach Bio:
I’m Hengheng, 7th Red Yuchen’s mom, originally from Shanghai, China. It’s my pleasure to coach the CAIS MathCounts team for the 2025–2026 season. I see this as a great opportunity to contribute to our CAIS community. Math can be competitive yet fun, just like any sport, so let’s help our CAIS Mathletes enjoy the challenge and make lasting memories on their CAIS journey!

In person meeting dates and times will be:
- Jan 16th 2026: 3:45pm - 5:45pm.
- Jan 23rd 2026: 3:45pm - 5:45pm.
- Feb 6th 2026: 3:45pm - 5:45pm.
- Feb 27th 2026: 3:45pm - 5:45pm.

Weekly Practice (Starting Nov 9, 2025)
- Practice papers sent every Sunday, including 30 questions to be completed within 40 minutes.
- Students interested in the February 2026 competition should submit their answers by Saturday 9 PM PST.
- The previous week’s answer key will be shared on Sunday along with the new set.
- Two 1-hour office hours (Friday nights, 7–9 PM PST, TBD) will be held for problem review and Q&A

Two In-Person Mock Tests (January 2026)
- Used to determine the final CAIS team (4 students) and individual competitors (up to 10 students)
- Each mock test lasts 75 minutes:
30 sprint-round-style questions (40 minutes)
8 target-round-style questions (24 minutes)
10-minute break between rounds
Attendance is required for eligibility to compete

Two In-Person Practice Sessions (February 2026)
- Two 2-hour sessions including full mock rounds:
Sprint (30 questions / 40 minutes)
Target (8 questions / 24 minutes)
Team (10 questions / 20 minutes)
- Focus: strategy building and team bonding for the upcoming competition
