Media Club Level 1: Leadership and Self Development

Build your foundation in leadership, empathy, and communication.

In Level 1, participants explore curated media such as TED Talks, podcasts, videos, documentaries, and articles that highlight different perspectives on leadership, empathy, cooperation, and personal growth. Every two weeks, you will receive a media list that takes about 2 to 4 hours to complete. Afterward, the group meets online through Zoom to discuss the topic and share reflections. Sessions are guided by The YES Leadership Team and guest facilitators.

Through open conversation and guided reflection, participants practice communication skills, deepen self awareness, and build meaningful connections. After completing the program, you will receive a Leadership Certificate from The YES.

*Duke of Edinburgh Award - Media Club Level 1 qualifies for the Bronze Skills Section of the Duke of Ed Award. Participants can use their meeting time, independent media work, and written or verbal reflections to complete the required weekly skill development hours.
