September Full Moon Hike
Description
Saturday, September 26th is the day of The Full Harvest Moon AND The Chinese Mid-Autumn or Moon Festival.

We’ll be hoping for clear skies so  that we can watch the Moon rise in the east from one of the the hilltops at the beautiful Wright-Locke Farm. We’ll begin with some Full  Moon poetry and a discussion of some Moon science and lore as we wait  for the Moon to appear. Then we’ll go out into the sanctuary for a walk  through the fields, around the farm pond and into the woods to enjoy the  natural world as the sky darkens. We’ll return to the barnyard to share some Chinese Moon Cakes as we watch the Moon climb higher in the eastern sky while listening to some Chinese Full Moon poetry both in English and Chinese.

This program takes place entirely outdoors. It is an easy/moderate hike/walk.
