October Full Harvest Moon Hike
Description

Monday, October 6 is the day of The Full Harvest Moon AND The Chinese Mid-Autumn or Moon Festival.  We’ll be hoping for clear skies so that we can watch the Moon rise in the east from the hilltop behind the All Seasons Barn. We’ll begin with a little poetry and a discussion of some Moon science and lore as we wait for the Moon to appear.  Then we’ll go out onto the sanctuary for a walk through the fields, around the farm pond and into the woods to enjoy the natural world as the sky darkens.  We’ll return to the barnyard to enjoy some harvest treats as we watch the Moon climb higher in the east as we share Full Moon memories. The program will include poetry.
