Animal Behavior and Conservation: Fall 2025
Description
Students in this course investigate animal conservation and behavior through readings of current literature, peer discussions, and direct observation of the Zoo’s diverse animal collection. Participants will explore proximate and ultimate causes of behavior, development and types of behaviors, ethology techniques, and the connection of behavior to wildlife conservation. This course will provide a foundation for understanding research methods and conservation issues of animals that can be applied and adapted to other settings.
This class is available only for Woodland Park Zoo’s Advanced Inquiry Students.
