Description
Our Adaptive Sailing Program is designed to make sailing accessible to individuals of all abilities by combining purpose-built boats, thoughtfully adapted facilities, and individualized instruction. No cost, but a donation is appreciated.

The program utilizes Access 303 sailboats, which were specifically selected for their stability, safety, and ease of use. These boats feature joystick steering, a weighted centerboard, and a reduced sail area, allowing sailors to focus on the experience of sailing while maintaining control and confidence on the water. The design of the 303 supports a wide range of physical abilities and promotes independence whenever possible.

In addition to adaptive boats, our site and facilities have been carefully assessed and modified to support inclusive participation. Dock access, grades, transfer stations, lifts, and key touchpoints throughout the facility have been designed to minimize barriers.

Adaptive sailing sessions take place every Thursday evening from late June through mid-August from 5:00–8:00 PM. The program emphasizes safety, empowerment, and enjoyment, creating meaningful opportunities for participants to experience the freedom of sailing.
