Grain & Groove
Description
The Grain & Groove Woodworking Club is an after-school program designed for middle school students to learn the fundamentals of woodworking using age-appropriate hand tools. The club introduces students to working with wood in a safe, structured, and creative environment while emphasizing patience, craftsmanship, and problem-solving.
Students will learn how wood grain works, how to measure and mark materials accurately, and how to use basic hand tools such as saws, chisels, rasps, clamps, and sanders under close supervision. Projects focus on simple, functional, and decorative items that build confidence and fine motor skills.
We will meet at the Groton Middle School Lobby, if a student needs to take the late bus, please contact Mr. Keith at (315)283-5476 the club does run until after the buses leave but arrangements can be made.
