Description
This summer, campers are invited to explore Chicago's rich & powerful stories through "A People's History of Chicago" with Kevin Coval & 32Peces.

This interactive camp introduces youth to the city's history from the voices of its communities - artists, organizers, immigrants, and every day people who shaped Chicago. Through guided reading, discussion, creative activities and reflection, campers will learn how history connects to their own lives today. More than a class, this experience is a practice in empathy, understanding & connection. Campers will build critical thinking skills, learn to listen across differences, and develop respect for multiple perspectivecs while strengthening their sense of belonging to the great city of Chicago.

Extended Day-Whole Session
AM and PM Extended Day 1 Week
Morning Extended Day meets from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and Afternoon Extended Day meets from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Campers enrolled in PM Extended Day must be picked up no later than 5:00 p.m. A late charge of $5 every five minutes will be charged after 5:00 p.m.

Morning Extended Day meets from 8:00-9:00 a.m., and is available only to full-day campers on each day that camp is in session.

PM Extended Day 5:00 PM- 1 Week
This afternoon Extended Day option meets from 3:00-5:00 p.m., and is available only to full-day campers on each day that camp is in session.
