Description:
The GLI Summer Institute for students entering grades seven and eight centers on forming a strong foundation for leadership within school and the greater community. Participants will conduct a self-assessment of their own leadership qualities and communication skills and plan ways to capitalize on the deeper understanding of their leadership strengths. They will build character and confidence by prioritizing their own values and belief systems, which they then use to make ethical decisions. Together, the participants will collaborate on investigations and group challenges to strengthen team-working skills and develop empathy. With greater community awareness, they will develop their own visions for the coming year and commit to action.
