What is Lantern Fellowship?

Planned in the spring and fall each year by women of the Heartland Conference of the United Church of Christ, Lantern Fellowship is a time when women of all generations come together to enjoy faith, fun, and friends. The retreat will be held at Camp Christian with housing in Monroe Lodge. Camp Christian is place where the spirit can find renewal. The Steering Committee hopes you will invite a few friends and loved ones to share in the wonderful experience of Lantern Fellowship. You can learn more about Camp Christian at:

Weekend Activities:
There will be time to explore Camp Christian, shop with the Market Path Fair Trade Store, get crafty doing art projects, and have lots of fun and fellowship with friends, old and new!

Lodging:
We endeavor to accommodate differently-abled participants. Please include preferences on the registration form. Final lodging decisions are made by the steering committee.

Fee:
The weekend is $155 per person; $140 for first-time attendees. Refer a friend, and save $10 on your Lantern weekend. If cost is a concern, please indicate on your registration you are in need of the Callie Budd Scholarship Fund

Speaker: Rev. Allen V. Harris

The Rev. Allen V. Harris was called to be the Regional Pastor and President of the Christian Church in Ohio, one of 31 Regions in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada and began his ministry in April of 2021. Prior to that he served in many local churches of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Allen has gifts and graces in many areas but is especially experienced in leading congregations and individuals through Anti-Racism/Pro-Reconciliation, Open & Affirming, and Accessible Congregational processes. He delights in and seeks to grow in transformational leadership, using social media for mission and advocacy, and in mentoring new clergy. He received his B.S. in Religious Education at Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma and his M.Div., with a concentration in Religious Education, from Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University, in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has authored articles in several journals, and has numerous liturgies, reflections and sermons published.
