FALL 2025
Program: Aging Everyone is Doing it
From the moment of our birth to our last breath, we all are on a continuous journey of aging, filled with both challenges and opportunities. This retreat is an invitation to reconsider our relationship with our aging selves and to celebrate the beauty and wisdom that comes with each passing year. No matter how old you are right now, this is the perfect time to reflect on and embrace the divine gift of aging. Join us for a weekend of reflection and connection.
Keynote Speakers:
Rev. Beth Long-Higgins is the founding director of The Center and has served on staff at United Church Homes since 2013. She served two UCC congregations as co-pastor with her spouse, Dave, in Louisville, KY and Canal Winchester, Ohio. Beth is a graduate of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and Heidelberg University. She delights in birding, quilting and travelling with family.
Kim Moeller joined UCH in 2022 and currently serves as the Abundant Aging Education and Program Specialist. She has her MDiv from Wesley Seminary and her ministry experience includes serving a UCC congregation in Wisconsin and as the small group coordinator at Menlo Presbyterian Church. Movie, theater and playing on-line gaming with her nephew are some of things that bring her joy.
Rev. Darla Metz is UCH’s chaplain for Community Engagement with The Center and comes to this position having previously served as the chaplain in our former Fairhaven Community. Additionally, she pastors Republic UCC and St. Jacob’s UCC and serves on the Northwest Ohio As-sociation’s committee on ministry and the cabinet. She is a graduate of MTSO and appreciates the time she spends with our grandchildren and her father.
