German Youth Two Week
Description
Minimum registration fee $300 Our two-week programs are our most popular, providing an opportunity to become truly immersed in Village life! Villagers build and enhance their language skills through small and large group learning activities, and by hearing and using the language - with the encouragement of our supportive staff - throughout their daily activities. By engaging in a variety of music, arts, sports and classic summer camp activities like campfires, singing songs, and more, villagers can increase their confidence, improve their language ability, and grow to become courageous global citizens. These programs welcome language learners of all levels. Intermediate and advanced learners in this session may participate in a Waldsee Adventure Program.

Adventure programs are designed within the two-week program to allow villagers to pursue special interests and concentrate their language learning. Check out our adventure programs in theater, medieval theatre, environmental learning, grammar and the Swiss culture and languages.

Die Grüne Welle
In the Grüne Welle, you can literally ride the “Green Wave” of environmental education and learn about sustainable living, environmental issues, and outdoor adventure.

As a participant in the Märchenwald adventure program, you can take on the role of a squire, a blacksmith, or a knight as you work your way through different professions of the German middle ages. You’ll learn about daily life and customs from the medieval period. You can help write and produce a theatrical piece based on a German saga or legend and perform it for the Village on a stage in the woods under torchlight.

Stadttheater
Develop your acting skills at das Stadttheater and explore the language and culture of stage theater in German-speaking Europe. You'll have an opportunity to present a villager-produced play at the end of the session.

Helvetia
Live the languages and culture of Switzerland with Helvetia, Waldsee's Swiss adventure program. Helvetia offers a great experience to explore Swiss culture and gain exposure to Switzerland’s other two major languages – French and Italian – together with a sampling of Swiss cuisine.
