Young Mariner Week 9
Description
Week 9 Theme: Marine Pollution and Cleanup
Learn about the impact of pollution on our oceans and what we can do to protect them. Explore where marine trash comes from, how it affects wildlife and habitats, and why clean water matters. Through hands-on activities, experiments, and a cleanup-focused project, campers will become ocean stewards and learn how small actions can make a big difference.
This session we will be welcoming Jesse Mechling, Marine Education Director at the Center for Coastal Studies to talk all about marine debris!
The Young Mariner Program (YMP) is a summer camp for kids entering grades 4-7 that combines marine biology, on-water exploration, and hands-on activities. Campers spend time both at the museum and on the water, learning about Cape Cod’s marine life, maritime history and environmental stewardship.
Weekly sessions run Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM, with a STEM-based curriculum designed to spark curiosity and build confidence on and around the water
