LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential: Foundations of Robotics & Coding Ages: 6-10 (Grades 1-5)
Description
Get ready to build, code, and explore the exciting world of STEM with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential! In this hands-on, interactive program, young innovators will use colorful LEGO bricks, smart hubs, and simple sensors to bring their creations to life.

In this 6 session camp happening on Thursdays from 3:30-5pm, students will embark on fun, story-based challenges that introduce them to the basics of robotics and block-based coding (similar to Scratch).
They'll learn how to make motors spin, lights glow, and sensors react, all while developing crucial problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and early engineering concepts. Whether they're building a moving animal, a rescue vehicle, or a creative invention, participants will discover the joy of seeing their ideas transform into working models.

Key Learning Outcomes:
-Foundational Coding: Understand sequencing, loops, and events using intuitive block code.
-Early Engineering: Learn about gears, simple machines, and structural stability.
-Problem-Solving: Develop strategies to overcome challenges and optimize designs.
-Teamwork & Creativity: Collaborate with peers to build and refine projects.
-Introduction to Sensors & Motors: Explore how robots interact with their environment.
-No prior coding or LEGO experience is required – just a curious mind and a passion for building!
