Sculptural Worlds and Models
Description
In this six-week class, students will explore sculpture through hands-on experimentation with materials, design, and creative problem-solving. By building maquettes, or small-scale models, students will learn how sculptors develop ideas through sketching, planning, and building in miniature before creating larger works. Working with found or recycled materials, each student will create an original sculpture while exploring personal expression and three-dimensional art making in an approachable and accessible environment. Students will provide their own materials; however, basic materials will be provided to start.
