Transformative Weaving: Found Materials (Fall)
Description
Transformative Weaving: Found Materials| with Jennifer Zona

Join textile artist Jennifer Zona for a hands-on shortened 4 week class, that explores transformation through fiber art. Participants will use recycled fibers and personal materials—such as old clothing, blankets, or coats—to create sculptural or tapestry weavings. Zona will guide attendees through techniques like ripping, cutting, knotting, and weaving. The workshop encourages reflection on personal and communal stories while engaging with the social spaces of South Bend. Open to all levels, this immersive experience is satisfying, meditative, and deeply creative—offering a chance to reimagine discarded textiles as expressive, meaningful works of art. Jennifer Zona will have her work displayed at Navy Pier this Fall.
