Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19

Q:What guidance is Kids Rock following for running camp during the Covid-19 pandemic?
A:There is a lengthy document from the State of Michigan for day camps. We will communicate specifics as they become available.

Creative Arts / Sports

Q:How do we sign up for the afternoon Creative Arts/Sports option?
A:This will be part of the same sign up form that the campers will use for elective classes. They will make their own selections at camp.

Electives

Q:How do Elective classes work?
A:Each week, campers choose from 4 elective class options. They will be in that class for the entire week during elective class time. There is no extra cost for the classes, they are part of camp!

Q:How do we sign up for Elective classes?
A:Campers choose Electives at camp. We guarantee that campers will get their first or second choice. Usually, we are able to give each camper their first choice.

Q:When will we know the Elective class schedule?
A:Elective classes cannot be determined until we have finalized our staff for the season. We base our electives based on our counselors, interests, gifts, and talents. Expect more info by June 1st.

General

Q:What should campers bring?
A:Campers should bring a lunch, sunscreen, clothes that may get wet/dirty, and athletic shoes. It is also recommended that campers bring with them a water bottle, snacks, and a change of clothes. For weeks involving water as the theme activity, campers should come wearing a swimsuit, and pack a towel and change of clothes. Certain activities like some of the elective classes may require students to bring additional items with them to camp and will be communicated to you with an email or note home.

Payment

Q:Can we pay week to week?
A:Yes, you may pay week to week, two weeks prior to attending. Email KidsRockInvoicing@gmail.com to request a custom payment plan.

Q:What is ACH (direct bank transfer), and why should I choose that option to pay my bill?
A:A direct transfer is a way to transfer money between two bank accounts, even between different banks, through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network in the United States. Banks and other institutions also call these payments ACH transfers and ACH payments. Bank transfer fees are half the cost of credit card fees. Choosing that option helps keep all of our costs down, so we hope you'll choose that option to pay your invoice.

Registration

Q:Can I send my camper if they are going into Kindergarten but old enough for 1st grade?
A:Anyone entering 1st grade in the fall, regardless of age may attend Kids Rock. If you have a camper who is not going into 1st grade in the fall, but is 6 years old before September 1, they also may attend Kids Rock Summer Camp. However, we ask that all parents looking to send their 1st grader highly consider their child's needs and maturity level. Kids Rock Summer Camp is an academic, social, and athletic activity program for school-age children. We provide structured and varied activities for the majority of the 8-10 hour day. This amount of structure is different than a traditional daycare program and may not be a good fit for all children. If you need help determining if our program will be a good fit for your child, feel free to call the Camp Director at (616) 928-8320.

Q:How do I add days, switch days, or cancel my registration?
A:To ADD days, please log in and edit your camper's reservation online. Under Registration History (Current Registrations), Click on "My Registrations". Then click on the Name of the Week (i.e. ZE1 Wet Wild N Wacky) that you want to add days to. Click on EDIT. Select available days. Click Next to add Extended Care Options and Next to Check Out. To SWITCH or CANCEL days, please submit a Change of Registration form: kidsrocksummercamp.com/change-registration.html

Q:Is there a way to add extended care options after I register?
A:Yes, you can always add extended care (early drop off and/or late pick up) later. Sign into your account, and extended care options will show up on the second page of options. Click ‘next’ without changing any of your full day selections, then you'll see the extended care options to select from. After you've made your selections, go to your Cart to confirm and pay for those options.

Q:What is your Cancellation Policy?
A:Kids Rock requires a two week notice for any cancellations in order to issue a refund for camp costs. If payment has not yet been made at the time of a late cancellation, payment is still required for any registered days/weeks within the 2-week window. This policy is in place so that we have adequate time to contact families on waiting lists and make informed decisions regarding supplies and staff schedules. A $15 administration fee is applied to invoices to process cancellations.
