Drum and Bugle Corps

Q:What is Drum and Bugle Corps?
A:Drum and Bugle Corps is a competitive musical activity open to youth between the ages of 15 and 21. The Spartans participate annually in the Drum Corps International (DCI) national tour and competitive season. DCI is often called "Marching Music's Major League". Q:Who are the Spartans?
A:Founded in 1955 in Milford, NH, the Spartans are New Hampshire's only competitive junior drum and bugle corps. Now based out of Nashua, NH, the Spartans have performed for numerous US Presidents and received countless awards, including five DCI Open Class championships in 1997, 1998, 2004, 2007, and 2019.

Q:How much does participation in the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps cost?
A:The Spartans charge a fee of $100 per camp during the winter audition season, which runs from November through April. If offered a contract, membership tuition costs for the 2024 season is TBD.

Q:What does the tuition cover?
A:Tuition covers instruments, costumes, transportation, housing, meals, show design and instruction.

Q:Are there other fees?
A:Some additional expenses may be incurred each season by members for items such as gloves, shoes, and spending money while on tour. Each registrant is also required to pay a one time $10 non-refundable processing fee each season.

Indoor Percussion

Q:What is indoor percussion?
A:Indoor percussion is a competitive musical activity open to youth between the ages of 15 and 22. The Spartans Indoor Percussion participate annually in several local and regional indoor winter circuits as well as Winter Guard International (WGI). Spartans Indoor Percussion are 2023 WGI Independent Open Finalists.

Q:How much does participation in the Spartans Indoor Percussion cost?
A:The Spartans charge an audition fee of $75. If offered a contract, membership tuition costs $2,900 for the 2024 season. All registrations will also incur a once per season non-refundable $10 processing fee.

Tuition covers costume, equipment, travel and housing for WGI events, some meals during WGI travel, instruction and show design.

Q:Will Spartans Indoor Percussion be participating in WGI Championships?
A:YES! In 2024 Spartans Indoor Percussion will be attending WGI Regionals in Trumbull, CT and Monroe Township, NJ as well as WGI Championships in Dayton, OH. Spartans will also participate in numerous NESBA shows.
