2016 Winter Camp
12/12/2016 - 12/16/2016
Ages 13 - 18
Registration for this session is no longer available
A group of teenagers spend a week with days full skiing or snowboarding and evenings learning about "What Tools Are in Your Toolbox?"

Teen campers (13-18 years old) who have shown an interest in participating in camp beyond just the summer are given the opportunity to attend Winter Burn Camp held in Steamboat Springs, CO. The campers are divided by skill level into winter sport groups—skiing and snowboarding. Each group has one instructor from the Steamboat Resort along with at least one adult camp counselor or hospital staff. The participants spend their days shredding the snow and learning new skills and tricks. In the evening, the group heads back to the Steamboat Grand Lodge to relax in the hot tub and get ready for the evening’s activity.

Campers are challenged to translate their experiences on the slopes into real-life lessons to take back with them after the skis and boards have been returned. A visit to Humble Ranch on the final night intentionally brings perspective to the week’s activities and gives the campers a chance to reflect on their experience while enjoying the last night with their friends.

This program is sponsored by the community and there is no direct required cost to the family.

There are a limited number of spots for Winter Camp. This is an application. We will review all applications and call all families with decisions in the beginning of November.
