As camp professionals, one of our key responsibilities with staff is to give them guidance— guidance about things like, how to walk the line between being a friend and an authority with campers; how to keep the fun with campers safe, especially when it gets highly stimulating; and how to manage their stress in ways that don’t detract from their jobs as counselors. Yet, no one really enjoys giving critical feedback to staff! In this powerful session Bob will give us a clear and insightful, yet highly practical approach to guiding our staff. Starting with orientation and moving throughout your season, you will use these skills and techniques over and over. Being a part of this meeting will help make you a better camp director!

Specifically, in this session you will learn the following:
Six ways to validate others
Four important aspects of critical communication
The two essential ingredients necessary for “radical candor”
Specific phrases for navigating delicate situations
The key resistance to accepting warm and cool feedback and how to overcome it.

All three parts of the Bob Ditter Professional Series will take place at 5 S Wabash Ave, 18th Floor, Chicago, IL 60603.
