In Kids Company, students will learn theatre vocabulary and build foundation skills in the actor's toolbox of body, voice, and imagination. Emphasis is placed on working as a team, developing expressive communication skills, and learning how to commit to imagined circumstances. Working with a script, the class will culminate in a full-scale production with a set, costumes, and professional lighting. Performing twice during our Company Festival weekend.
During rehearsal, students will rehearse their parts and receive individual coaching, play ensemble games to build their teamwork as a class, and develop their expressive theatre skills through drama games and exercises. There will be homework in-between rehearsals.
Additional or extended rehearsals may be scheduled based on actor availability as we near the performance date.
Kids Company show is yet to be announced.
