Deep Math Lab
Course Description: Push beyond routine math with a hands-on, visual, and strategic CPA approach (concrete→pictorial→abstract). Designed for advanced high schoolers, this course strengthens number sense, accuracy, and multi-step problem-solving while building clear mathematical reasoning. Students master modeling strategies, logical thinking, and advanced calculator techniques, and explore higher-level topics such as set theory, relations and functions, and proof-style reasoning. Outcomes: Faster, more accurate computation and flexible number sense Confident explanation of solutions and stronger critical thinking Ready for advanced math courses and math competitions
Eye of the Beholder: The Psychology of Bias and Perspective
In this intensive curriculum, students enter a dimension where logic is a matter of perspective, and reality is a construct of the mind. By using The Twilight Zone as a foundational text, gifted learners will explore how narrative structure and cinematic techniques can be used to manipulate human psychology. Students will move beyond traditional literary analysis to become "architects of perception." They will investigate why the human brain is wired for bias, how mobs form through social contagion, and how to engineer a "perfect twist." The week culminates in the production of an original script or performance piece that serves as a social commentary on a 2026 sociocultural issue.
Screenwriting for Film & TV
Learn to tell stories for the screen from award‑winning writer‑director John Forte. This hands‑on course teaches screenplay essentials—loglines, beats, formatting, scene craft, sharp dialogue, and treatments—through clip analysis, guided exercises, and peer workshops. Students will brainstorm, draft, revise, and present an original short screenplay, leaving with a polished portfolio piece, stronger creative confidence, and practical collaboration skills. Perfect for aspiring filmmakers, TV writers, and creative writers seeking real-world skills and mentorship.
Visual Journaling - Creative Self-Expression
Unlock creativity through visual journaling in this inspiring virtual course. Students experiment with mixed‑media techniques, study contemporary artists, and explore virtual galleries to spark original ideas. Guided projects culminate in a personalized commemorative visual journal that showcases growth and provides a lasting creative portfolio piece. Ideal for young artists seeking a supportive space to explore self‑expression and build lasting creative habits.
