Youth Rising K-1st - Week 4: Tiny Builders
Description
Hard hats on, it’s building time! Young builders stack, scoop, and create as they design animal homes, roads, and mini cities using blocks, boxes, and natural materials, while exploring construction vehicles and tools through hands-on play. Campers observe nature’s builders during outdoor explorations and use sticks, stones, mud, and leaves to build their own animal habitats. Special guests will bring live insect ambassadors to explore habitats and the work of some tiny builders. STEM challenges explore building, ramps, pulleys, and how materials hold up. Children sketch ideas, try them out, and build together as they share and collaborate. Art projects such as blueprint-style drawings, texture rubbings, and nature collages add a creative layer to this imaginative week of building and discovery.
