Rising PreK - Week 7: Rescue Rangers
Description
Adventure calls as children explore the world of everyday heroes, both real and imaginary. Through hands-on STEM and art activities, storytelling, and outreach, campers will learn about the important roles of community volunteers. Campers may create “adopt me” rescue-pet profiles, build simple animal shelters, design helper badges, explore beach and oil spill cleanups through environmental science activities, and complete fire safety art projects—all while discovering how community helpers care for animals, people, and the environment. Campers will also get moving with obstacle courses, role-play, and teamwork challenges that emphasize cooperation and empathy. Connections with the local fire station and a visit from an animal rescue team make the learning especially meaningful. By the end of the week, campers will feel empowered to see themselves as helpers who can make a positive difference in the world around them.
