Swallowtails - Week 8: Little Actors
Description
Stories leap off the page and onto the stage as campers explore the magic of acting, storytelling, and dramatic play. Through movement games, music, puppets, costumes, and simple props, children express emotions, use their voices, and work together to bring stories to life. Campers retell familiar tales, invent original characters, and explore story structure through play. Art projects include making masks, puppets, simple costumes, and backdrops using recycled and everyday materials. The week culminates in a joyful, low-pressure performance where each class shares a short skit or one-act play for friends and families, celebrating imagination, teamwork, and the confidence to take the stage.
