Swallowtails - Week 3: Little Foodies
Description
The kitchen comes alive as young chefs mix, mash, sprinkle, and taste their way through a playful culinary adventure. Campers decorate their own chef gear, explore basic gardening, and create art using fruits and vegetables as colorful stamps. Hands-on snack-making, such as mini pizzas, fruit kabobs, trail mix, and simple no-bake recipes, introduces measuring, sequencing, and growing independence. Culinary-themed experiments allow children to explore simple chemical reactions, create edible art, and invent imaginative recipes to share with friends. Local trips to food shops and restaurants offer a glimpse of cooking in action beyond camp, while pretend restaurants and ice cream shops spark creativity through menu-making, order-taking, and role-play. Blending STEM, creativity, and confidence-building skills, this week serves up joy in every bite.
