732 LEGO Creative Challenges (5-10) 9-11:30AM Join us in the fun of building with LEGO bricks and elements to create your own designs. Or, work with others using LEGO base plates along with 1x2, 1x3, and 1x4 bricks as you discover the beauty of interlocking for strong “builds.” Each day there will be an “interlocking” challenge to make towers; then, participants may add windows, doors, fences, animals, vegetation and other unique pieces. We’ll create pyramids and mosaics, vehicles and facades, too. Participants also practice counting and estimation; verbal communication skills are enhanced as students describe their creations to others. Throughout the week, builders also cooperate with one another in the challenging task of disassembling, sorting and returning LEGO elements to the correct bins. 786 Sew Fun (7-12) 12:30-3PM Sew Fun introduces sewing basics to beginners while building the skills of those with prior experience. Students will primarily use sewing machines (provided by the instructor), alongside focused opportunities to practice hand-sewing with a needle and thread. Each project is carefully selected to cover a variety of techniques, helping students build confidence and comfort in their abilities. This course is taught by a former public school teacher and avid fabric artist who loves sharing her passion for creating with the next generation of sewists.
