Description
Kayak Camp (Grades 7-8)
This camping session is designed for beginning kayakers. No experience is needed. Campers will learn the basics of equipment, using spray skirts, and paddling techniques in our pool and lake, and then apply those skills by paddling the Lower Hiwassee.
- 5 days and 4 nights of camp fun and excitement
- Bible Study and Worship each day
- 3 sessions (3 hours each) in the kayak
- All equipment provided
- Awesome grade-appropriate activities from which campers create their daily schedule (see list below)
Camp Activities:
Crafts, Swimming Pool, Creek Walk, Hiking, Field Games, Dancing, Parachute & Noodle Games, Basketball, 4-Square, Horseshoe, Corn Hole, Gaga Ball, Cookie Decorating, Slingshot, Frisbee Golf, Group Initiative Games, Bouldering Wall, Low Ropes, Zip-Line, Archery, Caving (off-site), Cloudland Canyon S.P. (off-site), Chickamauga N.P. (off-site), Snorkeling at the Pool, Campout, Lake Paddling/Boating Games, Guitar Class, Fishing, Art/Painting Class, Cooking Classes, Mountain Biking (on and off-site), Nature Hikes (off-site), Rappelling (off-site), Whitewater Paddling (Lower Hiwassee River), High Ropes with V-Swing, Climbing Wall (with Zip-Line), Vertical Playpen Climbing Apparatus
Campers choose their camp activities for their daily activity time blocks. Please note there are more activities than can possibly be completed in a session of camp. Time, availability, and weather are all factors affecting the actual camp activity experience.
Camp Lookout is dedicated to continuing the quality program campers and parents have come to expect and experience each summer. In the event of severe restrictions and/or elevated risks to campers and staff due to COVID-19, cancellation of some or all weeks is a possibility. The safety and well-being of every camper and staff is our top priority.
Sessions Begin and End:
Kayak Camp (Grades 7-8) begins Monday 9:00 – 10:00 am and ends Friday with a 2:00-2:45 pm pick-up.
