CAMMP
Description
CAMMP is a full day camp with ½ day of mathematics and ½ day of robotics and coding. CAMMP’s philosophy is to enhance children’s understanding of mathematics, robotics, and coding and its connections to thinking, reasoning, and real world problem-solving. Each CAMMPer receives individual attention from a specially-trained master level teacher. Summer CAMMP emphasizes three basic principles: having fun, learning through hands-on manipulatives, and problem solving. Basic robotics (grades 1-2), CAMMPers create compound machines and learn how gears, wheels, axles and other simple machines can work together and operate. Each CAMMPer will build and operate both mechanical and battery powered machines and may race their creations at the end of the week. Advanced robotics (grades 3-6), CAMMPers will work specifically with programmable, computer-operated robots. CAMMPers will team up to build and code their robot and may choose to battle other teams at the end of the week. www.cammp.com
