Join Susan Ploughe ( for a few days in the country, away from the daily stress. Let your creative spirit flow, we will take care of the rest. Water is an intriguing subject because it takes so many forms. In this workshop you will explore reflections, ripples, calm surfaces, waves, waterfalls, glistening surfaces and shallow transparent pools. Learn the characteristics of water and practice different painting
techniques to convey different types of water features. Demos will be in oils, but students may also use acrylics or pastels.

Through daily demonstrations and discussions, Susan will highlight various visual characteristics of water, and then will assist you in producing painted samples to reinforce each principle you are learning. Expect to take home many small studies. These will be helpful to refer to when working on your own projects. You will leave this workshop with the knowledge and tools necessary for portraying water convincingly.

Susan is an award winning painter and an enthusiastic instructor who loves helping students develop their skills. She is a Signature member of the American Impressionist Society and the Oil Painters of America. Her artwork can be found in many private and corporate collections, and she has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector,
and International Artist magazine.
