Genius Art - Fall into Art (Tuesdays) Fall S1
Description
Art exploration is an integral part of the learning experience for developing children. Even though the "process" of creating art is important, children desire the feeling of accomplishment and sense of wonder that comes with producing recognizable finished projects. The directed drawing method Suzy Brooks uses to teach art to children gives every young artist the opportunity to do just that. Every child is an artist but the ability to really "see" and reproduce the lines and shapes of the positive and negative spaces of the world around them must be learned. It starts at this age level with a series of simple shapes and lines drawn together that can become an instantly recognizable animal, insect, plant life...anything you see can be drawn! Children delight in discovering the lines they have so meticulously applied, paying attention to spacing and form, suddenly become exactly what they were trying to represent. How exciting for the budding artist to "know how" to draw these subjects! In this session our focus will be drawing and rendering a wide range of subject matter with projects chosen to be adaptable to students' developmental stage and fine motor skills.
