Description
Here are few things that excite children more than the prospect of actually cooking! Using MORE of their favorite stories as inspiration for the recipes just adds to the fun. Join Suzy Brooks in this hands-on class where children experience the joy of reading and discussing food-themed stories, then eating the "featured food" they have had a hand in making. Each week will read books about a race in a refrigerator, a town overtaken by noodles, a burro making tortillas and many other classic children’s tales. Then children help cook the food that has a starring role in the story of the day. In addition to cooking, students will learn and practice basic cooking safety rules, the importance of cleanliness and how to "not share germs" during food preparation. Some stories and foods will be familiar favorites, some will be new and exciting but all will be loved! of course, the best part for the students will be eating the final result.
