Description
This is the comprehensive art class you don’t want to miss. Don't think you have the talent to draw? Everyone has enormous stockpiles of talent stored away! This camp will expose each student to a systemic program offering rules to follow and step-by-step lessons to build drawing talent. In one week of camp, students will see an incredible difference in their drawing skills. Drawings will include 3 dimensional objects created by following the simple art rules of three-dimensional design. Kids are amazed when they look at their drawing and see their art POP off the page! Students will compose and create finished works of art and lots of practice sketches. Although the subject matter may seem complex, the teacher-directed drawing lessons are broken down into step-by-step tutorials. Art teacher Suzy Brooks shows students how to combine lines, strokes, and shapes to show contour, overlapping, foreshortening and size to create cartoon scenes that have all the depth and density of realistic ones. The various types of shadows an artist can learn to add to their drawing can make it either seem to hover or be heavy and grounded. Older artists will add all of the extra detail to their scenes while younger ones can concentrate on the main elements, so every student works at the level they are comfortable with.
