3D Printing
This class is a combination of Engineering and 3D printing where campers will make real working tools, toys, and gadgets. They will learn how to design 3D objects with software and try to build gizmos and gadgets (via 3d printing) using the same engineering process that professionals use to create all the products you use today. This program teaches students many useful problem-solving techniques, develops their knowledge of math & science, and many other critical skills, all in one fun class. All materials included, campers will take home their creations. (Grade 2nd-4th)

Art and Nature
Students will use their imagination to infuse both art and writing in this camp. Students will short pieces of writing from different genres, and each piece will include a different style of art. They will also enjoy fun word games that focus on spelling and grammar concepts. By the end of the camp, they will produce a mini portfolio of their creative work! (Grade 1st-4th)

Black Rocket- Day in Court- Mock Trial
Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff, or juror in several mock trials. Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Pull all your skills together at the end of the week as you participate in a final mock trial based on cases from past national and state-level Mock Trial competitions. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. (Grade 3rd-6th)

Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox’s Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with your own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. (Grade 3rd-6th)

Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! Bridges and Towers
This program will allow campers to express their creativity and satisfy their desire to build and experiment. Students will learn the basics of architecture as they experience the joy of building and testing their very own bridges and towers! We will use a variety of materials such as paper, bass and balsa wood. No prior experience is necessary, as we will guide them from start to finish. Campers will learn the building and designing process, and apply it to create bridges/towers. Chess
Introduction to the moves and rules of this intellectual sport with emphasis on problem solving, anticipating consequences and planning ahead, good sportsmanship, and learning from mistakes. Students will practice checkmates and tactics like pins, forks, discovered check, x-ray attacks on worksheets. Playing games with supervision, students will learn how to: open a chess game properly; apply middle game principles; practice basic endgames and checkmates; play comfortably with tournament rules and protocol; win graciously and learn from losses. Instructor will separate groups by skill allowing more advanced players to play against similar opponents. (Grade 1st-8th)

This week will involve running around and creating natural and ‘traditional’ crafts using collected material like sticks, leaves, rocks, and of course mud! We will create many natural crafts using material the campers gather themselves. Crafts may include sun dried handmade paper and candles. Drobots- Lego + K'Nex Jurassic Bot Battle
Campers, prepare to escape reality during this time-traveling Robotics and LEGO summer program! Design and guide your Robotic Dino-Cart throughout the Jurassic Map to find shelter. You better hurry, because the King-Rex is ready to track your group down and turn your hard earned Lizard Tokens into lunch! During this high-energy and adventurous program, participants will learn to code their robots to recreate the migration patterns of Dinosaurs. Groups of campers (junior Paleontologists) work together in small teams, and will build motorized pulley systems, bridges, and specialized tools to successfully navigate the prehistoric landscape! So get ready to transport from the comforts of your own engineering room, to the misty murky land of the Terrible Lizards who once ruled the Planet. Everything Pokemon
Calling all Pokemon Trainers. Enter into the world of Pokemon for a week of exploring the world of Pokemon, while being active, learning all about Pokemon and making friends. The primary Pokemon game that will be used is Pokemon Go. Everyone is encouraged to have a cell phone with Pokemon Go loaded on the phone, but it is not required. Campers that do not have a cell phone with the game on it may use an iPad or share someone else’s device. Participants will be introduced to the game and more experienced players will have the opportunity to improve their level in the game and learn more advanced skills. Each day campers will walk with their Pokemon buddies all around campus and near campus to visit Poke stops and to raid Pokemon gyms. Campers will learn how to make Pokemon friends and how to trade. We will also play Pokemon themed games. If your camper likes Pokemon they will love this camp! (Grade 1st-5th)

Fishing
Learn everything you need to know about the basics of fishing. Campers are introduced to various fishing terminology and techniques, where and when to fish, how to choose a rod and reel, baits, tying knots, lures, hooks and other fishing tackle. They will practice what they learn with games, casting target practice and fishing in the ponds of PDS. Please bring water shoes and/or extra pairs of sneakers.

Fishing- Advanced (Fly Fishing)
Take fishing to the next level. As with the fishing camp for younger campers this camp will introduce various fishing terminology and techniques, where and when to fish, how to choose a rod and reel, baits, tying knots, lures, hooks and other fishing tackle. In addition, this camp will take fishing to the next level with the introduction of fly fishing. A day will be spent introducing the art of fly casting and all that is a part of fly fishing. Ice Skating
Princeton Day School Summer Programs has once again teamed up with Learn to Skate USA to offer skill levels 1-8. Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns. Upon completion of the Skills 1-6 levels, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating. All classes will be well-structured with the focus on proper skill development, taught in a positive, fun and social environment. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated. Basic 1 and 2: These introductory levels allow new skaters with no prior skating experience to build confidence while learning the fundamentals. Basic 3–6: These levels develop all of the fundamental skating skills on the ice. Focus is on learning the ABCs of basic athleticism: agility, balance, coordination and speed. Level 7-8 will allow Freestyle level skaters to advance their skills. Skaters will be evaluated and placed in the appropriate level on the first day of class. (Grade 3rd- 8th)

Mini-Panthers enjoy a wide assortment of activities geared directly to their age, interests and activity levels. PDS Baseball Summer Camp is open to players between the ages of 9 (rising 4th graders) and 14 (rising 8th graders). A coaching group consisting of PDS coaches and other local, experienced coaches will run camp alongside PDS Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Eric Schnepf. Campers will receive personalized instruction focused on the development of their physical skills and the development of a positive, competitive mental attitude on the field. Camp is designed to spend time focused on team drills, positional / individual defensive and offensive development, and improved base-running. Skills will be put to the test each day through competition or in controlled scrimmages. This unique camp is for the experienced climber. It is an opportunity for them to further extend their adventure experience. They will have the chance to learn all the skills necessary to facilitate ropes course content.
