3D Printing
This class is a combination of Engineering and 3D printing where campers will make real working tools, toys, and gadgets. They will learn how to design 3D objects with software and try to build gizmos and gadgets (via 3d printing) using the same engineering process that professionals use to create all the products you use today. This program teaches students many useful problem-solving techniques, develops their knowledge of math & science, and many other critical skills, all in one fun class. All materials included, campers will take home their creations. (Grade 2nd-4th)

Campers will explore their artistic side through a variety of projects and mediums! Budding artists will work with pencils, paints, clay, and other materials to create projects big and small. They will create timeless pieces of art with traditional and modern techniques! (Grade K-4th)

Black Rocket- Lego Films and Stop Action
Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Whether you want to recreate a scene from Star Wars or design a world of your own, this class brings your dreams to the screen. Students will need to bring in LEGOs and/or action figures from home, but all other equipment is provided. Student-created films will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. (Grade 3rd-6th)

Black Rocket- Minecraft Modders
Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Bridges and Towers
This program will allow campers to express their creativity and satisfy their desire to build and experiment. Students will learn the basics of architecture as they experience the joy of building and testing their very own bridges and towers! We will use a variety of materials such as paper, bass and balsa wood. No prior experience is necessary, as we will guide them from start to finish. Campers will learn the building and designing process, and apply it to create bridges/towers. Every day they will challenge themselves and compete with their group in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. (Grade 2nd-4th)

Chess
Introduction to the moves and rules of this intellectual sport with emphasis on problem solving, anticipating consequences and planning ahead, good sportsmanship, and learning from mistakes. Students will practice checkmates and tactics like pins, forks, discovered check, x-ray attacks on worksheets. Playing games with supervision, students will learn how to: open a chess game properly; apply middle game principles; practice basic endgames and checkmates; play comfortably with tournament rules and protocol; win graciously and learn from losses. Everything Pokemon
Calling all Pokemon Trainers. Enter into the world of Pokemon for a week of exploring the world of Pokemon, while being active, learning all about Pokemon and making friends. The primary Pokemon game that will be used is Pokemon Go. Everyone is encouraged to have a cell phone with Pokemon Go loaded on the phone, but it is not required. Campers that do not have a cell phone with the game on it may use an iPad or share someone else’s device. Participants will be introduced to the game and more experienced players will have the opportunity to improve their level in the game and learn more advanced skills. Each day campers will walk with their Pokemon buddies all around campus and near campus to visit Poke stops and to raid Pokemon gyms. Campers will learn how to make Pokemon friends and how to trade. We will also play Pokemon themed games. If your camper likes Pokemon they will love this camp! (Grade 3rd-8th)

Fishing
Learn everything you need to know about the basics of fishing. Campers are introduced to various fishing terminology and techniques, where and when to fish, how to choose a rod and reel, baits, tying knots, lures, hooks and other fishing tackle. They will practice what they learn with games, casting target practice and fishing in the ponds of PDS. Please bring water shoes and/or extra pairs of sneakers.

Take fishing to the next level. As with the fishing camp for younger campers this camp will introduce various fishing terminology and techniques, where and when to fish, how to choose a rod and reel, baits, tying knots, lures, hooks and other fishing tackle. In addition, this camp will take fishing to the next level with the introduction of fly fishing. A day will be spent introducing the art of fly casting and all that is a part of fly fishing. Harry Potter Camp
Welcome to Hogwarts, young wizards and witches! Our program begins with the Sorting Hat determining each camper’s house, be it Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Griffindor. From there, campers will be transported to the halls and classrooms of Hogwarts, learning herbology, fantastical beasts & mythical creatures, playing a round of quiddich and participating in the Tri-Wizard tournament itself. SSAT Prep- Math
This class familiarizes students with the SSAT, the test used by most independent and boarding schools as part of the admissions process (along with GPA, transcript, recommendations, etc.). Students will learn test-taking strategies and review the Quantitative, Verbal and Reading sections of the SSAT. Participants will take practice SSAT tests and receive feedback on ways to improve their score. Included in the course is the development of an individual study plan that will outline a study routine as one prepares for the SSAT.
