Fiber Arts
Description
Camp Director: Tiffany Walters

The world is bursting with color. What better way to showcase those colors than with a fiber used for millennia to provide warmth and beauty? Wool is a beautiful natural fiber beloved by fiber artists around the world. It can be dyed using God’s secret gifts of color hidden in plants, flowers, and even bugs.

In this camp, students will discover how wool yarn is dyed naturally and learn the basics of knitting. Each camper will be provided with a pair of knitting needles and naturally dyed yarn. They will knit a small project to learn the skills of casting on, the knit stitch, and casting off. These skills will give them the tools they need to continue their knitting adventures after the camp is over.
