9:00 AM - 12:45 PM
Grades 3rd - 6th
This session has openings. Registration for this session will end on 8/20/2020.
From seed to soil to sauce– we’ll learn all the secrets of how to make farm fresh, homemade pizza, and become pizza chefs ourselves. Each day we’ll discover a new step: how to thresh, winnow and mill wheat to make flour, how to make fresh cheese, summer seasonal tomato sauce and pesto, and pizza dough, all while learning about the food system in the United States, and local agriculture in Oregon in a fun and delicious way. We'll even make daily trips to the OES campus garden to harvest ingredients for our pizzas and tend to the plants. On the final day, we’ll put all of our new skills to use and make and eat homemade pizzas!
